    Senior School (Years 11 & 12)
The final two years of secondary schooling can be challenging times. The requirement to be self-motivated and focused on the goals that have been set must be at the forefront of a student's daily life. At the same time, the involvement of students at this level in their studies can bring great satisfaction and a passion for learning that will be of life-long benefit. At our school the interest and encouragement of the teaching staff and tutors will provide close support for the young people as they meet these challenges and new experiences.
The IB program provides a rich environment for growth and for learning, not only in academic subjects, but also in team work, community and social awareness and as a well-rounded individual. The compulsory components of the IB Diploma, CAS and TOK, provide unique benefits for development and experiencing new skills and activities. The CAS program encourages the student to look beyond themselves and the confines of the classroom. In this programme they will be exposed to real life situations where they can be of service or where they can make a creative input to the life of the school. Full involvement in the co-curricular program of the school is also encouraged as a way to meet the CAS requirements and further develop new skills.

The pastoral care structure is designed to help students adapt to the changes and challenges that they face in the Senior School and to maintain an enjoyment of learning. Our tutorial groups are made up of two or three students from each year level in the secondary school. This system allows senior students an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and to model good behaviour to the younger member of the tutorial group. The relatively small size of the tutorial group ensures that there is an opportunity for tutor and student to form a rapport that is of mutual benefit.
The teaching staff and tutors monitor the students closely, communicate regularly with parents and are always prepared to respond to queries about any concerns or issues. The IB Diploma Programme will equip students for study at the tertiary level in countries all around the world. We also hope that the experiences here will build people who can take their place in the world of tomorrow as thinking and contributing individuals.
