The Boarding house is a residential unit for boys & girls for Grades 4 to12. It is able to accommodate students and has staff housing. The dormitory is located on the slope of a beautiful hill with challenging and picturesque hikes all around and students often enjoy the outdoor life that this allows.
'Hostel is one of the most fun parts of staying in SPIS. Students get to be with friends sharing different ideas, playing sports and get to know different people with different culture backgrounds. Also staying in Boarding house helps students to learn to adjust in society and how to survive on their own without help form parents'.' The Boarding life is an experience in itself one interacts with different people and different cultures getting to know other people is essential for getting to know yourself. This is also a place where you never feel lonely, have friends next to you twenty four seven, and a place one will never forget.
The Boarding house is a modern and luxuriously furnished accommodation for students and is divided into three distinct wings of 40-45 students each, each section of which holds toilet, shower facility & a computer bay. The Common Room gives the students an ideal space for social activities at dormitory level.
Each wing has one Television room with DVD players and space outside where students can wander, read, and sit in the sun or under the stars around a camp fire. Nearly every weekend features social events, organized by the staff & students, the get-togethers include activities such as movie nights, games and dances - all creating evenings much-relished down time after a busy week at school.
The compact arrangement of the building facilitates the development of a family atmosphere, where routines are less institutional, and the staff is able to build "parental" relationships with each student. The rooms situated in the Boarding house are mostly set up for 4 to one room occupancy. The Junior-wing accommodates our little people from grade 4th to 7th, its fun to hear their endless discussion, variety topics for debate.

Prep time provides structured time for the students to work individually, and additional study time is accommodated. In a home for so many students, staff tries to create an atmosphere where academic excellence is encouraged, and where girls and boys are motivated to explore a variety of leisure pursuits. The Boarding house students are divided into tribes. Each tribe has about 20-25 students, they choose and organize their own events, which could be anything from a movie night to getting a staff member to take them to the town to eat and shop.
The Boarding house staff is committed to being available at all times for the students and to providing support, counseling, encouragement, and academic or emotional help. Time is quite structured during the week so that students can concentrate on studies. Weekends tend to be more relaxed with more opportunities for leisure activities.
